One Band One Sound
What We Do
We bring residents, organizations, and partners together to strengthen communities, connect families to resources, and create lasting impact across the Far South Side.
01
Community Collaboration & Resident Voice
FSCC’s mission is to unite residents, organizations, institutions, businesses, faith leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen networks and improve quality of life. This pillar is about making sure residents are not just served, but actively involved in planning, decision-making, and implementation.
02
Economic Development & Local Business Growth
A major goal of the Far South Quality-of-Life Plan is to “circulate and recycle the community dollar” through local business support, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and community investment.
03
Housing Stability & Homeownership
FSCC’s plan emphasizes empowering residents through homeownership and improved housing opportunities, especially for seniors.
04
Health, Safety & Community Self-Care
The Quality-of-Life Plan includes removing mental health stigma, supporting self-care, and strengthening community well-being. FSCC’s broader work also connects to violence prevention, youth supports, and access to basic needs.
05
Cultural Identity, Beautification & Environmental Justice
FSCC emphasizes cultural pride, visibility, beautification, green space, clean energy, and environmental justice. This pillar is about making the community feel seen, valued, clean, safe, and connected to its history.

"True progress begins when every community has a voice and every resident has a seat at the table"
